[okay he WAS asleep, actually, for once. But luckily, he wakes up to the notification noise. Squinting against the dark at the brightness of the Fluid.
...OKAY MUCH MORE AWAKE NOW.] yeah yeah hi hey no sorry can be there in 5 Im at the apartment are Sash & Gerry w you?
I was out walking and wound up near the lake. I know I shouldn't have been out so late. I don't really know what I was thinking. It just happened.
I met a little girl out there who said her name as Claudia. I walked her home and I wanted to take her home-home to make sure she got there safe. She turned on me, though, jumped at me and latched onto my neck. It was like something out of a horror movie!
[Oh. Oh no. Oh jeez. Okay, if Martin didn't know Claudia before, maybe it's better not to mention that Tim...does. And is sort of friends with her? Maybe? Can you be friends with a vampire?
[Martin's propped up with pillows in bed whenever Tim arrives. His door is open, and there's a mug of tea on the nightstand beside him. He's had so much to drink at this point, but restoring his fluids had been vital once they'd got back to the house. He's pale and feeling incredibly weak, drifting in and out from a fitful doze.
The door pulls him back toward consciousness.]
Oh, um... hey, Tim. I'm really sorry about scaring you like that. I was... I'm okay now.
[As if. Tim has seen Martin in a lot of states, and this is probably one of the worst of them. But Tim doesn't tell Martin otherwise, at least not at the moment.]
You look like shit, mate. But we're gonna make sure you make it through.
S-sorry. I'll be better soon. I didn't- I don't even know why I was out. Can you... day-dream walk? Pretty sure I wasn't asleep when I wandered off to the lake. Mm... bad time for that sort of thing, either way, I guess.
[Martin scoffs and, tentatively, leans a little closer to Tim. It's... strange, still, having this kind of closeness with people apart from Jon. Not bad, just different. He never thought he would have it. But people here seem to enjoy actually letting him touch them. It might be a few more years before the novelty wears off.]
Pretty sure this was past the warning shot when she kept telling me she wouldn't let me walk her home or call her dad. Who turns a kid barely past being a toddler into a vampire? Sick people...
I'd call you an idiot, but I think you might take it personally.
[Time to run his fingers into Martin's hair, just a little. You know what the best part of not being colleagues any more is? Random displays of affection for your friends.
Especially after they were idiots and got attacked by a vampire.]
You know, from what I've gathered from her, I'm not entirely sure if it was the overly emotional basket case, or the narcissistic sociopath. Either way. Neither of them are here, so nobody can have a...
[What blood Martin still possesses rushes to his cheeks as Tim just... does that. He reels a bit, light-headed, and can't really respond for a few seconds. Tim is stroking his hair and it feels nice, gentle. Oh, god, Martin is going to screw this up somehow. Maybe he shouldn't say anything at all, just be silent and it will keep going. The level of desperation for simple touch is pathetic, and Martin knows it. Still...]
Yeah, uh. We--I. May have seen one of her memories? From--from when there were all those weird...eye flower things? Back in...back...last month?
And she...might have. Maybe. Been keeping an eye on me since? Because I was roundly pathetic because of my death flu still and so I think she thinks I'm patently bad at being a living creature.

[Tim sort of gently ruffles Martin's hair, getting closer on the bed and offering him a shoulder to lean on.]
We'll worry about you wandering off like a lunatic when you're a little more on the level. For right now, just rest, okay?
